Meet the Professionals Night [Upcoming Event]

The annual Meet the Professionals event will be held on October 4th from 6:30-9:30pm at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Seattle. Meet the Professionals Night is the ideal opportunity for students and professionals to meet and become acquainted before fall recruiting. Tickets are $30 per student and you can pay at the door of the event after you RSVP. Keep in mind that the dress code for the event is business professional. See the attached flyer for more details.

Peterson Sullivan Open House [Upcoming Event]

Please see the attached flyer for Peterson Sullivan’s Open House on October 4th from 4-6pm. This is the perfect opportunity to meet professionals from the firm, receive an office tour and learn more about the different aspects of the firm. Snacks and beverages will be provided.

Interview Workshop [Upcoming Event]

WSCPA (Washington Society of CPAs, http://www.wscpa.org) is hosting an interview workshop on the first day of fall quarter, September 25th, 6-8pm.

Accounting professionals, who have experience in interviewing students like you will assist in improving your communication and interview skills. This is one of our very first professional event of the year. So don’t miss this great opportunity!

The WSCPA is a professional community of CPAs who work in business and industry, education, government, not-for-profit organizations, and public accounting. Our membership includes CPAs, students and retirees. With nearly 10,000 members, the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants is the only organization in the State of Washington dedicated to serving the professional needs of CPAs, educating consumers about CPAs and the services they provide, and encouraging students to study accounting and enter the profession.

Note that this workshop,  along with all of our upcoming events, is only offered to BAP members. In order to participate in this event, you must have membership application on file. If you are a not a member or have not renewed your membership for the 2013-14 year, please download the application form from the right side of our homepage and submit it to Professor Ron Tilden’s office (UW2-329). Also, please email wendykwan.bap@gmail.com to RSVP, with the title “RSVP- Interview Workshop”.

The location of the event along with further information about the event will be sent out to those who have both RSVP’ed and submitted their application. Spaces are limited, so reserve your spot now!

 

Annual Accounting Barbeque [Upcoming Event]

 

Are you interested in seeing what we are all about? On September 18th we will be kicking off the start of the school year with our annual accounting barbeque! At the barbeque you will have an opportunity to meet your fellow students in the accounting program, accounting faculty, recent UWB accounting alums, and representatives from the accounting firms who will be conducting on-campus interviews at UWB this fall. We will be putting together volleyball teams that are comprised of a mixture of representatives from the accounting firms and current students. There is no charge for this event. Come ready to eat food and have some fun!
