Meet The Professionals Night!

Hi everyone,

This is a reminder that Meet the Professionals for Accounting seniors is coming up Friday, October 1, 2010 from 6:30pm-9:30pm at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The cost is $25 and the dress code is professional. Our professors say that meeting the professionals who will be deciding who gets interviews is a MUST. This is the biggest accounting recruiting event in the state.

Fall Recruiting is in process now, so all accounting seniors should attend to get a head start on networking. I’ve provided a description of the event below. If you are interested, please contact Libbe Bear at wwu.bap.rsvp@gmail.com as soon as possible.

What is Meet the Professionals Night?

Meet the Professionals Night is an excellent opportunity for students and professionals to meet in a relaxed environment and become acquainted. The Theta Phi Chapter at Western Washington University has achieved national recognition as a Superior Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi every year since its inception. We are once again excited to host this year’s function. Beta Alpha Psi and Accounting Society students have been invited from Central Washington University, Eastern Washington University, Gonzaga University, Pacific Lutheran University, Seattle Pacific University, Seattle University, University of Puget Sound, University of Washington-Tacoma, University of Washington-Bothell, Washington State University, Heritage University and Western Washington University. Professionals from international, national, regional and local CPA firms have been invited, as well as accounting professionals from government and industry organizations. Western Washington University has hosted this valuable annual event for more than twenty years.

Business Card Template

Hi all,

Some firm recruiters and our career services personnel have suggested that the cards are helpful. We would like to distinguish UW Bothell students by enabling you to have a uniform card. No other campus does that. Use the following template to print your own business card and make sure to bring plenty to Meet the Professionals Night. Some of us are buying our cards at Kinko outlets or online.

BAP BBQ

Hello Accounting Students,

Hopefully you are all having a productive summer.

Your Beta Alpha Psi Leadership has been productive this summer. Currently we are gearing up for our upcoming networking and informational barbecue on Thursday, July 15 . The barbecue will not only be a chance to get a free meal on a sunny summer day. We will be providing insight and information into B.A.P. and how big a part of the University of Washington Bothell campus  and the accounting program we have become. Here are some questions you might get answered at this event,

  • What is B.A.P.
  • What does it mean to be a candidate or member of B.A.P.?
  • What do I have to do?
  • How might this help my career?
  • How do I get information on the accounting firms and their 2010 fall recruiting?
  • What firms are coming to the professional meetings this year?
  • What B.A.P. leadership position can I apply for to make sure I get the most out of the B.A.P experience?
  • How do I apply?
  • What can I expect to learn at the August 12th Info Session? (Yes, we are planning another info session.)

Food and drink will be provided and we will be talking about accounting, B.A.P. and you.

Come join us at Blythe Park in Bothell for some food, info, camaraderie and maybe a rousing game of croquet.
