Sign up details: There are different positions are needed for this event. Below positions are by the first come, first serve basic; Please register ASAP for your favor position. Your family members are welcome to join us as well. Current Available Positions:
1. “Burma Shave” signage along race route: 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. AND 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. Place signage along race route. Gather signage at end of race and load in truck or wagon. Must be able to walk and carry signs. Volunteers will be paired up and assigned a section of the race route. Volunteers may walk the route, or drive a personal vehicle. Other duties as assigned.

2. Registration: 9:30 a.m. – noon(ish)
a) Pre-Registrants: Help set up and tear down registration tables. Sign in participants and answer questions at the registration tables. Troubleshoot nametag issues with staff. Extroverts wanted! Other duties as assigned.

b) Walk-In Registrants: Help set up and tear down registration tables. Sign up participants and answer questions at the registration tables. Troubleshoot nametag issues with staff. Must be able to handle money. Extroverts wanted! Other duties as assigned.

c) T-Shirt Set Up and Distribution: 9:30 a.m. to noon(ish): Quickly identify and distribute appropriately sized t-shirts to race participants, as they are being assisted at the registration tables. Listens for directions from Registrars and provides proper size T-shirt to race entrant. Other duties as assigned.

3. Greeters: 9 a.m. – noon(ish): Greet and direct participants as they arrive at the event, giving directions as needed. Extroverts wanted! Other duties as assigned.

4. Route Guides (ADULTS ONLY): 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Guide participants on the race route, keeping them on race path and ensuring their safety at crosswalks and other points with moving traffic and bicycles. Contact emergency personnel in case of emergency. Other duties as assigned.

Need: 16 volunteers
5. Turkey Costume & Candy: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.: Dress in Hopelink’s turkey costume and hand out candy to children and race participants. Interact with the public. Promote spirit and goodwill. Extroverts wanted!

6. Staple Turkey Feathers: 11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.: Guide participants in writing what they’re thankful for on cut-out turkey feathers. Staple on turkey. Must be outgoing and friendly!

7. Food / Other Handout: 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.: Hand out fruit, other snacks, water, and bags to participants as they conclude their race. Must be outgoing and friendly!

8. Water Distribution at Turnaround: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Pick up water from Pavilion. Take it to Carillion Point and distribute to Turkey Trot Participants. Return any undistributed water to pavilion. Other duties as assigned.

9. Restroom Attendants, Garbage and Recycling: 10:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.: Ensure the cleanliness of race route and grounds by emptying garbage cans, picking up trash and disposing of it in appropriate receptacles, and stocking toiletries in bathrooms. Sweep bathroom floors and empty garbage cans as necessary. Other duties as assigned.

10. Timers: 11 a.m. -1:30 p.m.: Timers are needed at the finish line and at the turnaround points to call out times to participants as they reach these landmarks. Timers must be able to accurately call out times from the stopwatches provided. Other duties as assigned.

11. Winning Participant Timer: 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.: Record the times and bib numbers of the 1st overall finisher, the 1st man finisher, the 1st woman finisher, the 1st youth finisher, the 1st costumed finisher, the 1stfinisher with a stroller, and the 1st finisher with a dog. Must be able to record accurate numbers. Other duties as assigned.

12. Cowbell Ringers: 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.: Use cowbells to make noise to rally the participants. Must be outgoing and loud. Optional: Make signs to encourage runners and walkers. Other duties as assigned.
